Opening night of Clemenza di Tito at the Met tonight at 7:30! It is an absolute privilege to share the stage with Giuseppe Filianoti, Elina Garanca, Barbara Frittoli, Lucy Crowe and Oren Gradus. This is some of Mozart's most exquisite music, and I can hardly believe he managed to compose it in less than three weeks!! There's no question that there was total genius at work here. However, the underlying question we all truly want to know is: "How many cups of coffee contributed to the making of this opera?". Hmmm ...... some things we will never know. Nonetheless, my hands are starting to jitter at the thought of it. :)
